Introduction

Lesson One: Today we make a transition into the third subject in the understanding salvation series and that is our identity in Christ. This topic alone has the ability to: -establish your security (defining worth) and -revolutionise your approach to life. Your sense of identity is what -determines how you ascribe meaning to things and also -how you choose to apply yourself to things. It’s also what determines your -progression in life and -sets the limits of your possibilities. Pay attention to the dealings of the Spirit as we progress.

Introduction: 

One of the most important revelations we can get from the Word of God is to understand who we are in Christ. Identifying with Christ will change the way we live and cause us to rise above adversity. Not understanding our identity in Him will keep us living far below our rights and privileges in Christ.

Man is created with the faculty of identity. He will draw his sense of identity from something or someone. Most people identify with things in the natural (situations and people’s opinions). Drawing definition from these things brings disadvantage and limitations. We are to be defined only by the one who created us.

Scripture points us to the right place to draw your sense of identity from. 

One of the most potent truths that will establish a proper sense of identity is the principle of identification with Christ. It answers all the arguments that the enemy and unbelieving believers will level against you, it is the antidote to the voice of the accuser. It’s a worthy truth to ask God to reveal.

Identification with Christ establishes that who you are right now is because you have become one with the death, burial, resurrection, ascension and seating of Christ.
