The anointing is your instrument of dominion in ministry. The anointing is an unlimited empowerment to do exploits. It is the knowing of your God that will enable you to do what He has called you to do. Carrying the anointing is proof that you have been called. The anointing is the mark of Christ, proving that you are called. Show me your calling without the anointing, and I will show you my calling with the anointing.
It is when the anointing comes upon all that have gained knowledge in Bible school that it becomes effective. The world is not waiting for you; they are waiting for what you carry. They are not waiting for physical strength but for what is inside of you. God, knowing your desire, can draw the anointing toward your direction.
The most honourable job in this world is ministry (John 15:5). It is a golden vision that you are bigger and greater than you think you are. Ministry is not by accident; you were formed in your mother’s womb for a reason like this (Galatians 1:15-16). That is the mystery of predestination. What moves God most is your willingness to do His work.
God does not take permission from anybody before He creates you, so you must understand that you are called. You are only a messenger. The people may not respect who sent them, but when God sends you, He will also equip you. The empowerment from on high is upon those that are called. Every exploit in ministry is traceable to power from on high. Ministry is not something to rush into; you must wait. Those who refuse to wait will waste.
Do not love the work of God more than the God of the work. Those who despise instruction cannot escape destruction. Instruction is the mother of distinction, and instruction gives direction (Luke 24:29). Only those who wait can renew their strength. There is a price to pay to do exploits in ministry—fasting is non-negotiable in the school of exploits.
God’s commandment is not to grieve you but to groom you. Wait so that you will not waste away. Feed your spirit. Every man of God that matters takes time to feed their spirit. At the end of the day, only what you give to the spirit will sustain you, for the spirit you have is what really matters in life and ministry. It is your spirit that matters, and it takes the operation of the Spirit of God to do exploits (Isaiah 11:1-7).
There is no way you can separate spiritual empowerment from the body. Man is of three dimensions:
A man is said to be dead when the spirit is absent. To do exploits in ministry, you must be empowered in the spirit, body, and soul. If the soul is dead, it will affect the spirit. If what comes into your soul is corrupt, it will feed your spirit with corrupt things. That is why you need a sound mind in ministry.
Every exploit in ministry requires mental dignity. To do exploits in ministry, you must be mentally balanced. Your reasoning faculty must be 100%. You must think to do exploits (1 Corinthians 14:14). It takes a sound mind to have a sound ministry. Without a sound mind, sound people will not come to your ministry.
Without a mentor in your ministry, you will experience torment in ministry. If you are insane, people who are insane will flock to you. Bishop David Oyedepo says, “God has given you a brain so that you can allow Him to rest.”
Your soul matters, so it should not be polluted. That is why the spirit of wisdom, a sound mind, knowledge, and understanding are rooted in the soul. Feed your soul. Your spirit is connected to God; your soul is connected to things around you. Iron sharpens iron. Jesus believes in mentors more than you know, and they may not be perfect. You need a sound mind to pull down a prophetic unction upon your life. Every successful man of God or prophet is a product of another successful man of God. One is better than two, but if the two do not agree, stand on the truth.
Anytime you live in sin, you postpone your day of greatness. Apostle Johnson Suleman said, “Sin stinks, sin sinks, and anytime you commit sin, something dies in you” (Prov. 13:20).
Take care of your soul. Keep company with people who can add to you. Anybody who cannot add to you will subtract from you. Mind the music you listen to because it will either build you or break you.
FIRE doesn’t just fall; it answers to preparedness. You don’t wait to get prepared—live prepared. You must become a message. The best teacher is the one who teaches through his lifestyle. A message from the head will touch the head, while a message from the heart will touch the heart.
Your body must be sound. Where your body stops, that is where your spirit will stop. Watch what you eat; it is not a sin to have a balanced diet. Eat plenty of protein, fruits, vegetables, vitamins, and carbohydrates.
“Where you sleep determines your dream; your dream determines your vision,” says Archbishop Benson Idahosa.
The way you dress will determine how you are addressed. Iron your clothes, polish your shoes, be your best consistently, cut your hair, keep it neat, brush your teeth, and perfume your body. That you should eat well does not mean you should be greedy. You must know the food that is not good for your body.
Spend time to rest. If you don’t rest, people will lay you down to rest. “If you don’t rest, you will rust,” says Bishop David Oyedepo. Inspiration will come upon your spirit man if your body rests. Rest your body so you don’t die untimely.
Without a mentor, your ministry will be a mess. The Holy Spirit is your spiritual mentor, but you also need a human mentor. There is somebody God has raised, lifted, and healed for your healing. “Be ye followers of me, even as I follow Christ.”
Don’t be a lone ranger—you need a covering.
